Long Haul
LONG HAUL
Those clementine wind up the swing
Moss that grow on seats sigh and cling
Once were happy now droop and wait
For joyous voices which could sing
Songs of near past hard to locate
For starved minds an endless bait
Stand on toes look over the fence
Search for anything animate
Eons pass ; though a month intense
The streets were jammed , the smog dense
Now silence echoes on dead wall
We fell and died without defense
The cemetery , now a roll call
Nature reclaims its own windfall
Lets stay awake for the long haul
Lets stay awake for the long haul
